2016 US-China Intellectual Property and Protection Forum was held in Chengdu on December 6. It was organized by Chengdu Intellectual Property Office, co-organized by Chengdu Hi-tech Zone Science and Technology Bureau and Chengdu Hi-tech Zone Intellectual Property Service Alliance, and sponsored by Finnegan Henderson and Sichuan Zhichuang space incubator management Co., Ltd. During the meeting, Yang Zailin, deputy director of Sichuan Intellectual Property Office and relevant leaders of Chengdu Intellectual Property Office attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Ma Weiye, Vice President and Secretary General of Patent Protection Association of China and former Director of State Intellectual Property Office was specially invited to give a keynote speech about Intellectual Property Protection Environment for Patent Operation.

With the great promotion of policies such as the One Belt, One Road and the Yangtze River Economic Zone and the positive response of local governments and enterprises, the international degree of market has been greatly raised. Intellectual property has increasingly become a core resource of national development and international competition. In order to strengthen overseas layout planning of intellectual property in some key industries, at the same time, to make enterprises walk steadily and go further on the strategy road of Going Abroad, Chengdu Intellectual Property Office thoughtfully arranged the forum. Through the explanation and ideas exchange, people more know about the intellectual property operation and protection.

At the meeting, Dr. Zhu Shaobin, Richard Racine, and Linda J. Thayer, lawyers of Finnegan Henderson separately shared “the Patent Layout and Portfolio Management Strategy of Innovative Enterprises”, ” the Risks and Strategies of Chinese Companies Investing in Intellectual Property in the United States”, “The Latest Development of Patent Litigation in the United States and Its Significance for Chinese Enterprises” and other aspects with attended personnel. Combined with classic handled cases, they gave Chinese enterprises many strategic opinions on the abilities of enterprises to deal with patent applications, protection, operation and intellectual property disputes, which make business representatives and managers get more benefits.
